1. Akshay Kumar's parents gave him the name Rajiv Bhatia -> Active voice

2. Akshay Kumar was given the name Rajiv Bhatia by his parents -> Passive voice.
The passive always contains: A form of the verb 'to be' (eg: was) + past participle. (given)

3. Akshay Kumar has had his hair styled -> something that Akshay Kumar 'made' someone to 'do for him'. He did not do it himself. -> Causative form.
Causative verbs are used to show that a person causes, makes, or enables another person to do something or make something happen.

Causative form:
Have + object + verb 3 (past participle) – have something done
Have + object + infinitive – have someone do something

You can sometimes also use 'get' in place of 'have', but that is more informal.

Examples:
They had their car repaired. (they arranged for someone to repair it) - causative form
Structure: Have + their car (object) + repaired

I had my hair cut yesterday. (I went to the hairdresser)
Structure: Had + my hair (object) + cut

I got him to speak the truth
Structure: Got + him (object) + to speak (infinitive)

ଟିପ୍

Causative is also used when someone does something to us. This typically, refers to an unpleasant experience.

1. Ram had his money stolen.

2. Mayank had his phone stolen last night.

ଶିଲା ନିଜ ବିବାହଘର ପାଇଁ ନୁଆ ପୋଷାକ ବନେଇଥିଲା.

1. Sheela had made a new dress for the wedding.
Sheela had made a new dress = ଶିଲା ନୁଆ ପୋଷାକ ବନେଇଥିଲା (ନିଜେ ବନେଇଲା). But, we are saying: ଶିଲା ନୁଆ ପୋଷାକ ବନେଇଥିଲା (ଆଉ କାହା ଦ୍ବାରା)

2. Sheela had a new dress made for the wedding.

ମୁଁ ମୋ ଘଣ୍ଟା କେଉଁଠାରେ ଠିକ କରେଇ ପାରିବି ?

1. Where can I have fixed my watch?
'I have fixed my watch' = ମୁଁ ମୋ ଘଣ୍ଟା ଠିକ କରି ଦେଲି. କିନ୍ତୁ ଏଠାରେ, ଆମେ ଆଉ କାହା ଦ୍ବାରା ଘଣ୍ଟା ଠିକ କରେଇବା ବିଷୟରେ କହୁଛୁ.
